This kitty was very wary of us for a time, and he was not wrong to be.  How could he know our intentions?  I think there was a part of him that was honestly hurt (emotionally) by whatever he endured before us, and unwilling to trust humans before he was SURE about them.  He had to work through that and decide if we could be relied upon.  We don't like to brag, but we could be!

Stuart Q is very smart.  He began taking an interest in what we were doing around the medical room, and noticing special foods prepared for different cats who needed them.  He also noticed that there were kittens nearby who had no fear of humans and nothing bad ever happened to them!  I honestly think he was able to connect this, and through play and food, he was persuaded that we could be allowed to pet him.  He is very funny and still takes quite an interest in what humans are doing!  After some cage-free time in a community room, Stuart Q is a typical cat, and you would never guess he had trouble with socialization.  He loves visits from people maintaining and loving on our cats, he is not difficult to handle, and he loves playing with his kitten friends.  He may need a small adjustment period to get comfortable in a home, but this is true of any cat!  

He would likely do best without young kids in the home, and with an experienced cat owner who knows how to speak cat, but he really is not a difficult case anymore.  He decided he wanted his own home!  Could it be yours?

We do not have a walk-in facility; most of our cats are in foster homes.  For this reason, we require an approved application on file before we set up a meet and greet. 
 
Completing an online application does not obligate you to adopt! We care deeply about our cats and want the best match for all involved. 
 
All CATsNAP cats and kittens are: 
  • Vaccination against Panleukopenia (Distemper), Rhinotracheitis, and Calicivirus  
  • Vaccination against Rabies (if animal is over 4 months of age) 
  • Testing for Feline Leukemia (FeLV) and Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV)  
  • Initial de-worming, flea, and ear mite treatment 
  • Sterilization of the animal prior to adoption; no exceptions 
  • Micro-chipping as mandated by state law
