heartbroken by abandonment
Carmella and her sister were abandoned. Caring neighbors saw the situation and the frightened cats seeking shelter, and they begged us to help. Once recovered to indoor conditions, Carmella has had a harder time learning to trust again than her sister, Cannoli. Can you imagine the difficult transition they have gone through? Tossed out, wearing a fur coat in the full heat of summer, clinging to the property where you used to be welcome in hopes that someone you loved unconditionally would one day return. . . experiencing things like predators, hunger, thirst, cold and scary nights for perhaps the first time. How would you learn how to trust again after someone who promised to love you forever threw you out? Miraculously, Carmella is coming around. She does not always like to be touched when she doesn't see it coming or know the intentions of the person. But she knows indoor life, and she knows how to be a pet. We can see that she is heartbroken, but deep down, longing for a second chance at that wonderful thing called a home. Could it be yours?
